Whenever we start the process of finding the optimum solution to our client's needs, all options are on the table for evaluation so as not to miss any opportunity.

As an example, when one of our clients purchased a tired 1970s house on a wide plot in West Common, Harpenden, the brief was to create a larger contemporary open plan family home. The idea was to transform the existing house that had not been extended in the past into a new spacious family home full of light and volume.

Through the careful addition of single and two storey extensions, where almost all of the internal walls were the configured, the house was able to flow and function completely differently from the original property. The external elevations were also re designed to give a fresh more contemporary appearance with grey aluminium windows, off white render and a grey slate roof. This is what can be achieved through a careful choice of where to extend and how to re develop.
