The transition from the inside of the house (normally the dining / kitchen area) into the garden is a requirement that is often high on a client's wish list for both an extension or a new build project.

These inside / outside spaces work well when integrated with either bi fold doors or sliding aluminium patio doors and can really give the final house a much more direct relationship with the outside spaces.

When fully open, and with a level threshold to the doors, and where the tiled surfaces flow continuously inside to out, a striking architectural feature can be created.

People can feel much more connected to their gardens and in the summer months really feel that the outside is brought inside.

Almost all our building projects in Harpenden and St Albans introduce this feature to some degree into the design, and when linked to the family functions taking place inside give the finished home a real sense of place.
