A small addition to an existing house when combined with a radical re organisation of the internal spaces can create a house that flows and functions in a completely different way than the original dwelling.

This particularly applies to houses that may have been extended in the past but in ways that do not link the internal rooms in a coherent way.

In some cases, the actual extension elements are not that large, but this opening up of a number of smaller separate rooms to the extended house can create a much better functioning open plan space.

When linked to a patio / garden area beyond the kitchen dining family room, a stand out family living area can be created on even a modest budget.
